As artificial intelligence becomes more accessible and powerful, cyber threats are becoming more sophisticated and convincing. Staying safe from cyber attacks doesn’t have to be complicated. You can reduce your risk by staying alert and taking some simple actions:
- Ignore urgent or threatening messages that pressure you to take immediate action
- Use strong, unique passwords or PINs; choose passkeys and enable multifactor authentication when available
- Share personal information only with trusted sources
- Don’t click suspicious links and attachments sent to you via email or text
- Keep your devices updated with the latest security updates
Protecting your personal information is our top priority. We use several safeguards to protect your data.
- We will never request sensitive information by email.
- We verify your identity using your Pension ID or the last four digits of your SIN. We will never ask for your full SIN over the phone or by email.
- We follow industry-recommended practices for protecting your personal information. For more details related to these practices, please review our Privacy Statement.
